Eight members of the Grieg Seafood BC team spent the month of November sprouting facial hair to raise funds and awareness for the annual Movember campaign.

The expansion of Grieg Seafood BC Ltd.’s (Grieg’s) Gold River Hatchery Expansion Project, known as RAS 34, was successfully completed earlier this spring and has received the first transfers of juvenile Atlantic salmon, known as fry, into the system.

After trialing a made-in-BC semi-closed technology solution at its farms off the Sunshine Coast region, Grieg Seafood BC Ltd. (Grieg) has announced it will be proceeding with the installation of these semi-closed system at all three of its farms in Esperanza Inlet, off the west coast of Vancouver Island.

Grieg Seafood BC Ltd. (Grieg) has entered in an agreement with OptoScale to provide nine camera sensor units for use at its farms located along both the east and west coast of Vancouver Island in BC. The units provide real-time insight and data regarding the performance and growth of farmed salmon populations, which up until now, has only been available to this degree of accuracy after harvesting of the farm has been completed.

Campbell River, BC – Grieg Seafood BC Ltd. (Grieg) has committed an additional $11 million annually in its continued commitment to reducing sea lice populations, while also reducing overall medication and chemical use.

The meetings will provide an overview of Grieg's current operations to elected officials and regional districts on Northern Vancouver Island

Grieg BC's Movember team didn't let a global pandemic get in their way of raising money for men's health initiatives in the name of a co-worker's father.

This spring and summer we have experienced higher than normal sea lice levels at our farms in Nootka Sound and our crews have been working hard in response to this.

Earlier this July, Grieg Seafood BC achieved multi-site certification from the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) for five of its Sunshine Coast salmon farms.

Grieg Seafood received ASC’s multi-site certification for 5 of its Sunshine Coast farms earlier this month. Grieg is only the second company in the world to achieve this.
