Grieg Seafood BC staff raise funds for local charities during the holiday season
From the Managing Director in Campbell River to farm-site Aquaculture Technicians, Grieg staff members care about the people and the communities in which they work.

Grieg Seafood BC is a company which prides itself on being active participants in the communities in which it operates. And 2022 has been no exception. In the past month, dozens of Grieg Seafood BC staff shared in the spirit of giving, raising funds and donating goods to several local community initiatives.

Managing Director Jennifer Woodland encouraged staff to get involved. “For me, part of our annual holiday tradition as a family involves making sure we give back,” says Woodland. “Not only does it make a person feel good to help someone, it helps you appreciate all that you have, which can sometimes get lost in the day-to-day of our lives.”

Grieg Seafood BC staff collected funds and donations for both the Campbell River and Gold River Food Banks. The Gold River Food Bank acknowledges that the company donates throughout the year, not just during the holidays. “Thank you, Grieg Seafood for delivering your GENEROUS donations throughout the year,” says Marcie Szoradi-Carlsen of the Gold River Food Bank. “We appreciate it BIG TIME.”

The company also collectively donated presents for children through the Campbell River Angel Tree Society and the John Howard Society’s KidStart program.

“I am grateful for all the opportunities we have before us,” says Woodland, “and this is a great time to help those less fortunate.”

In addition to staff donations, Grieg Seafood BC donates approximately $100,000 to local causes like wild salmon enhancement programs, arts and culture, youth sports, Indigenous initiatives, education and community events.
