Global Salmon Initiative and World Wildlife Fund launch ESG risk assessment tool for feed ingredients
London, United Kingdom – March 6, 10am BST: Today, Global Salmon Initiative (GSI) in partnership with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) launched a first of its kind environmental, social, governance (ESG) risk assessment tool for feed ingredients. The tool will improve visibility into supply chains, allowing stakeholders to better identify and address possible ESG risks. GSI and WWF designed the tool to support the salmon farming sector, but the wider animal protein production sectors, including livestock, may also benefit from its use.

Grieg Seafood to invest in new post-smolt unit in Finnmark to improve fish health, welfare and sustainability
The new land-based facility, which is estimated to cost 1.1 billion NOK, will produce 300 tonnes of post-smolt starting in 2026. Post-smolt improves survival, fish health and welfare as well as sea lice control, according to Grieg Seafood’s experience from Rogaland.

Grieg Seafood ASA has entered into an agreement with Scottish Sea Farms Ltd for the disposal of all shares in Grieg Seafood Hjaltland UK Ltd, the parent company of Grieg Seafood ASA’s Shetland business. The enterprise value is set to GBP 164 million, assuming a normalized working capital, and to be adjusted for cash and debt.
