Managing Director, Grieg Seafood Sales North America Burnaby, BC

Grieg Seafood are on a journey of sustainable growth in an exciting market full of opportunities. Going forward, we are looking to develop our business downstream in the North American market. We will engage in strategic customer partnerships within the retail and foodservice sector, as well as on VAP products. Grieg Seafood are currently building up a new farming region on the East Coast of Canada, which will complement our production on the Canadian West Coast. As such, in a few years, we will farm healthy salmon near both US Coasts.

To achieve our goals, Grieg Seafood are now looking for a dynamic and commercially minded leader to fill the role of Managing Director at our Seafood Sales North America Division in Burnaby, BC. Grieg Seafood Sales North America is a critical business unit for Grieg Seafood with responsibility for direct sales of all salmon raised in Canadian waters to customers across North America and Asia.

We are looking for an experienced leader who is a strategic thinker with extensive knowledge of the seafood industry and salmon trading that:

  • Is responsible for sales of all origins to the US market.
  • Has a proven track record of delivering strong results in a commercial business.
  • Has business acumen, is results-oriented, with the ability to lead and embrace change.
  • Thrives in a hectic environment and have a strong competitive drive.
  • Must be able to travel international to visit customers attend meetings
  • Has excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Successfully will establish/develop effective relationships with staff, customers, businesses, and other stakeholders is an essential part of this role.
  • Preferably, but not mandatory are educated to a master’s level.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer in Norway, the Managing Director is a key position that will interact with Global Management Team Sales and local entities in Canada / US. This role has prime responsibility for managing all departments within the company.
