Certifications are an important way in which we hold ourselves accountable to our local communities, customers, and end consumers. Here we explain the certifications we hold, how we get them, and why they’re important.

Our local communities and our customers have a right to know how we make our farming practices as sustainable, healthy, and cruelty free. That’s why we use third-party certifications to hold ourselves accountable to our stakeholders. This means that we are audited by third-party experts who certify that we operate our farms in line with best practices. Our local community and our customers can be confident that Grieg Seafood Shetland is committed to our responsibilities regarding:

  • sustainability and the environment;
  • social integrity and fair working standards for employees;
  • animal health and welfare;
  • food standards, safety and traceability;

Currently Grieg Seafood Shetland are certified to the GLOBAL G.A.P Aquaculture standard.
